Friday night will be a night to remember for hundreds of Uintah Basin residents at the ‘Night to Shine’ hosted by the Vernal Christian Church. This event is a prom for our special needs community members age 14 and up and there is still time to get signed up! Pastor Schaun(Shawn) visited the Evans Family Media studios on Wednesday and shared that so far there are 70 individuals signed up and 260 volunteers. All volunteers had to pass a background check to participate. The decorating got underway Wednesday and everyone involved is excited to make Friday night unforgettable. When guests arrive they will get spiffed up at the Christian Academy. They will then travel by limo across the parking lot to the dance inside the Vernal Christian Church. They will walk the red carpet and get blitzed by paparazzi as they enter the dance where at the end of the night every guest is crowned as King and Queen of the prom. “This is the first time in the Basin and hopefully not the last,” shares Pastor Schaun. “What a community we have! People have stepped up with finances, services, and products.” There will be a room on site for family members of the attendees to hang out while their loved one enjoys the dance. Don’t miss this opportunity to give your special needs loved one their time to shine!
