Uintah County Sheriff’s K9 ‘Riddick’ will soon be suited in a special multi-threat vest thanks to generous donations from the Uintah County community. The ‘Hero K9’ organization made the announcement on Wednesday, sharing that they are pleased to announce Riddick as the recipient of the special vest and a Ranger K9 Trauma Kit. “Thanks to donations from the community which raised the $1,100 to fund a multi-threat vest and a Ranger K9 Trauma Kit, this equipment will be provided to the agency at no cost,” shares Hero K9, a 501(c)(3) that raises funds for K9 training and equipment. “The made-to-order multi-threat vest valued at $950, by Safariland in Jacksonville, FL and the Ranger K9 Trauma Kit valued at $150, by Hero K9, will be shipped directly to the department through Hero K9’s distributor…” K9 Riddick is a very deserving recipient. He is a 3 ½ year old German Shepherd certified in Patrol, Tracking/Trailing, and Narcotics. Riddick has contributed to many arrests and recently competed with handler Uintah County Deputy Amy Leishman on “America’s Top Dog” on the A&E Network.
