Utah Senator Mike Lee took time to discuss on air with Newstalk KVEL the new report released by the Joint Economic Committee citing Biden policies to blame for inflation and rising costs for American families. “Utahns are being forced to spend more and more this winter to drive on the roads and heat their homes,” shared Lee. “We are facing surging heat and gas prices that are getting worse with every step [due to] disastrous policies and regulatory inadequacies. Skyrocketing energy prices end up burdening families, especially poor middle class families, in attaining basic goods they need.” Lee emphasized that there are downstream effects that manifest first at the fuel pump and then move out to everything else because of increased energy costs. So what is the solution? “We need energy policies in this country that allow rather than discourage robust domestic oil production,” said Lee. He also emphasized that among the problems is those who see that people are suffering but who do not want to connect what is happening now to actions by the government. A better job needs to be done of explaining the connection of federal regulations on the one hand, said Lee, and increased prices on the other hand.
