Senator Lee’s Business Outreach Director Addresses Vernal Chamber Luncheon

The Business Outreach Director for Senator Mike Lee presented during the Vernal Chamber luncheon last week covering a variety of hot topics. Director Justin Anthony shared that there are a lot of briefings concerning the Russian/Ukraine conflict and Senator Lee is pushing for the President to go to Congress and get authority for whatever actions need to be taken. He shared an update on the supply chain problem, stating that the problems in the ports include shortage of drivers, chassis, and space. Senator Lee believes deregulation will help solve some of the issues and that the U.S. should look to NATO members for the possibility of obtaining additional dredging ships. Anthony also discussed the growing problem of inflation, stating that it is costing the average household a 9 percent regional inflation and increased costs of $511 dollars more per month compared to one year ago. He shared that concerning the subject of housing, Senator Lee suggests that the federal government work with the state to transfer federal lands located in communities to be used for housing.
