Come January 1st, Congressman John Curtis will step into the role of U.S. Senator after winning the seat being vacated by Mitt Romney. As Senator-elect, Curtis visited with Evans Family Media about his plans for his first 100 days in office and beyond. Specifically, Curtis referred to the Uintah Basin and other energy hubs in the state as places he plans to continue the discussion of our energy future. Curtis explained that he sees permitting reform as a high priority as hyper regulation is holding up good projects in the Uintah Basin and around the state. Curtis, who is the founder of the Conservative Climate Caucus, shared that NEPA has been used as a weapon to shut down projects that should be going forward so addressing that is really important to the Basin. Getting the budget under control is also a top priority to Senator-elect Curtis. Listen to the entire interview with Senator-elect John Curtis on the Public Affairs page on BasinNow.com.
