A program that has helped many families in the Uintah Basin build sweat equity in their own homes is seeking applicants in the Vernal and Roosevelt areas. The Mutual Self Help Housing program is administered by the Uintah Basin Association of Governments and applications are now being accepted. “We need 4 in Vernal and 4 in Roosevelt,” shares UBAOG representative Kendra Hackford. The Vernal new construction is in Lakeview Estates in the Davis area and the Roosevelt new construction lots are all located near Centennial Elementary School. The program utilizes a USDA Rural Development Direct Loan for the program participants. Those interested in learning more are invited to call the UBAOG office at 435-722-4518.
