An amazing volunteer effort turned out on Labor Day to assist with a search and rescue effort for a man who had been reported missing in Daggett County. Family shared that on September 1st, the man headed for the mountains to break down his summer camp but unfortunately was alone and unprepared for the conditions. The search started on Sunday when he hadn’t returned but the wet conditions made it difficult. On Monday, over 120 volunteers joined the search and rescue team in muddy conditions that were difficult to navigate. The Department of Public Safety helicopter spotted the man miles away from his camp. He was flown to Ashley Regional Medical Center where he was treated for hypothermia. Community members, family, friends, and of course all involved in the search are celebrating this positive ending that he was found alive and will be okay.
