Even in the serious weather conditions, winter recreation enthusiasts are out enjoying the outdoors, not always resulting in a positive experience. Wasatch County reports that a call came in on Wednesday of a snowmobiler suffering a heart attack during whiteout conditions in the Daniels Summit area. Wasatch Search and Rescue responded and while they were eventually able to assist the sledder having the medical emergency, the whiteout conditions made it hard to initially locate the sledder. “Dispatch was able to tell the person to stay put so Search and Rescue could locate with a GPS in the whiteout,” shares the report. The sledder was located and the Search and Rescue team was able to assist the party to an ambulance waiting at Daniel’s Summit.
