Distance learning officially starts for Utah students today and each district is handling the shift in their own ways. Duchesne County School District shared on Tuesday that their students who don’t have access to technology at home can check out devices from their schools starting today, March 18th. Those who may need this option are asked to contact their child’s school directly. Duchesne County School District’s plan for providing meals is that breakfast and lunch is delivered to designated bus stops at normal morning pickup times. Meal pickup is also available at all neighborhood schools from 7:30 to 8:30am. All are asked to remain in their vehicles and meals will be handed through the window. Uintah School District Superintendent Rick Woodford shared an update on Tuesday. Uintah School District has set up a tech support hotline to help students, parents, and teachers that is available from 7am to 9pm daily at 435-781-3111. He also clarified that there will be no instruction during Spring Break April 6th through the 13th, regardless if schools have been re-opened. Grab-and-go school lunches for all children in the community ages 18 and under are available for pickup from 11:30am to 12:30pm at Ashley, Naples, Eagle View, and Lapoint Elementary Schools. Grab-and-go lunches will be at Jensen City Park, Tridell Community Center, and Whiterocks Community Center from 11:30am to noon. Adult meals cost $3.75 and need to be paid in exact change or by check. It is also helpful to write down the names of all the children receiving lunch before arriving.
