The Rotary Club of Vernal is focused on helping local families. The cold is settling in and soon enough that will mean snow and winter. Today is the day to stop by the Uintah County Library between 3 and 6pm to find a free coat or hoodie for all members of your family. The Vernal Rotary Club gathers new and gently used coats for months leading up to this event so that community members of any age can come in and get what they need to stay warm this winter. All are welcome and encouraged to come. The Rotary Club of Vernal is also gearing up for the annual Santa’s Community Effort to ensure all kids have gifts under the tree this Christmas. For those feeling the strain, there is still time to turn in an application for your children to be a recipient of this year’s effort. The deadline to apply is November 15th. Applications can be picked up from Davis Food and Drug in Vernal. Santa’s Community Effort is able to help about 160 families per year. Angel Trees will be set up at Trees For Charity and at Vernal Davis Food and Drug and Walmart starting December 3rd.
