A Roosevelt event in its 5th year is expected to draw in a crowd on the 4th of July. The annual Red Mud Run started in 2013 and has grown in popularity each year since. “This is a really fun event even to just come and watch,” shares Roosevelt City Manager Ryan Snow. “We get people attending from all over the state. When we started we had about 250 people sign up but it has continued to increase in popularity and there was over 500 last year.”  The event, held every year at Roosevelt’s Constitution Park, consists of several miles of running or walking set up with muddy obstacles along the way. Little would be mud-runners also join in with the kid’s mud bath event where little ones are able to swim in the mud searching for items in order to receive prizes. The Red Mud Run starts at 9:30am and Roosevelt City has other 4th of July activities planned including live music, and local food vendors at the park. A concert by America’s Got Talent finalist Linkin Bridge will take place at 8:15pm followed by fireworks. Visit www.rooseveltcity.com for more information.
