Ignoring scammers is a way of life now unfortunately but that doesn’t stop the con artists from seeking out still vulnerable targets. A scam that is still in circulation is the scammer pretending to be in law enforcement and claiming to have a Warrant for you. Roosevelt City Police recently shared a reminder with the community that law enforcement will NEVER call you with a warrant. No law enforcement agency will EVER demand payment over the phone. And scammers can fake phone numbers that look like the call is coming from local law enforcement. Don’t be fooled! Never share personal information over the phone and hang up.
