Scammers are hard at work trying to steal your hard earned money. Roosevelt Police Chief Mark Watkins is urging the community to be on the lookout and not fall for the scammer’s approach. “There have been a shocking number of telephone and online fraud cases reported in our city and the Roosevelt Police Department would like our citizens to know what to look out for and that we are here to help,” shares Chief Watkins. “If you receive any unsolicited or suspicious calls requesting your personal information or money, do not provide any information. Take down their phone number and tell them you will call back. Any legitimate business or government agency will not argue with this. Then call the Roosevelt City Police Department and talk to one of our officers – we want to help! We will assist you in determining if the call is legitimate before you share any of your private information.” Call Central Dispatch in Duchesne County at 435-722-4558 and in Uintah County at 435-789-4222.
