Roosevelt PD Reports Increase In Unsupervised Student Drivers

Learning to drive is an important life skill but it is one with strict rules attached for the safety of all on the roads. Unfortunately, those rules are being ignored by some locals. Roosevelt Police Department reported on Tuesday that their agency has seen an increase in the number of unsupervised student drivers on Roosevelt streets. “Utah Law requires that a parent, legal guardian [or the] financially responsible adult occupy the seat beside any minor driving under a Learner Permit,” shares Roosevelt PD. “If a minor is found to be driving illegally, the parents may be cited, the vehicle could be impounded, and insurance may not cover damages in the case of an accident.” If you need a refresher on Learner Permit regulations and how to legally obtain a Driver’s License, visit www.ZeroFatalities.com/Learner-Permit.
