Last year the rodeo club of the University of Wyoming was able to place in the College National Finals. They are more than half way through the season and are showing the competition that they are ready to be in the finals again. The Cowgirls, the University’s ladies rodeo club, scored a total of 445 team points. Wyo Sports reports almost half those points came from Roosevelt, Utah native Taylour Latham when she placed in goat tying and barrel racing. To top it all off she is a leader in the all-around. That places the Cowgirls at 1,238.33 points and in second place in the Central Rocky Mountain Region. With only two more competitions left, colleges are trying to place as one of the top two teams in the region as that receives the automatic bid to next Summer’s College National Finals College. University of Wyoming has a 400 point lead over third places and it is looking good for the Cowgirls, largely thanks to Taylour Latham. Congratulations Taylour and thank you for representing the Basin so well!
