The Roosevelt community and beyond is mourning the loss of a young man who has been identified as the fatal victim in a Carbon County crash over the weekend. The Carbon County Sheriff shares that “deputies from the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office as well as medical personnel from the Carbon County Ambulance were dispatched to a vehicle rollover near Star Point on Saturday, June 13th. Upon arrival, deputies came into contact with a 19-year-old male, identified as AJ Price, from Price, Utah. He had visible injuries but was able to tell officers that he and his friend rolled his 2008 Dodge truck the night before, June 12th, between 10 pm and 11 pm. Both men were ejected from the vehicle as it rolled several hundred yards down the mountainside. Dalton Van, a 19-year-old male from Roosevelt, was found deceased due to injuries sustained from the accident. Mr. Price was transported to Castleview Hospital and later to Utah Valley Hospital.” The Utah High School Rodeo Association held a boot run in Dalton Van’s honor this week as he was a valued member of their community. They shared on their Facebook page that “Dalton Van was an amazing Trap Shooter winning the state and then going on to become the National Champion. He was also a talented welder with many awards and accomplishments. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family especially his parents Connie and Mike!” Evans Family Media also offers our condolences to the Van family and all those mourning this tragic loss.
