The Roosevelt City Sports Complex project is officially underway after the groundbreaking held last week. The project is currently focused on the earthwork, water lines, and lighting design and is considered about 10 percent complete. The project cost is estimated at $3.5 million dollars, funded by the Community Impact Board, Roosevelt City, and community partners. Roosevelt City was awarded a CIB loan of $3.22 million dollars, a CIB grant of $280,000 dollars, and received donations of $100,000 dollars. The new sports complex will be located at Constitution Park inside the open area of the walking path. Tentative plans for the sports complex include new baseball/softball fields for both youth and adults, green lawn space for youth soccer fields, and a new multi-use cement surface. It’s estimated that Phase 1 of the Sports Complex will be complete in the spring of 2024.
