Submissions are needed for a Hometown Heroes presentation that will be taking place during July 4th festivities in Roosevelt. The Roosevelt Arts, Parks, and Recreation Committee are hosting an all-day Independence Day celebration with Roosevelt City.
Start your day with a flag retirement ceremony. Bring your own flag to be respectfully disposed of with the help of the American Legion. Following the retirement ceremony, Roosevelt City will be raising their 60 foot flag 120 feet in the air on the red rock overlooking the Roosevelt Memorial Park. The rest of the afternoon will offer sports and activities as well as vendors and food trucks. A program will take place at the Constitution Park stage at 7pm with musical performances and the fireworks show at 10pm. Pictures and brief bios of Duchesne County heroes past and present are needed for the Independence Day slideshow. Please email hometown heroes submissions to sbellon@rooseveltcity.com by July 1st.
