National Extra Mile Day is coming up and Roosevelt City has big plans to celebrate. The City announced this week that they are accepting nominations of citizens who have gone the extra mile in serving the Roosevelt City community. From the pool of nominations, Roosevelt City Council will present three Extra Mile Day awards to deserving individuals for “going the extra mile to make Roosevelt a great place to live, work, and play.” Extra Mile Day was started by The Extra Mile America Foundation in 2009 and over time it has grown to be a day that over 500 cities in the U.S. celebrate each year, encouraging their citizens to participate and find a way to go the Extra Mile.
