Roosevelt City’s secondary water project continues, now working on Phase III. Roosevelt City was awarded a $2 million dollar grant in the spring from the Division of Water Resources to be used toward this phase of the project. Phase III got underway on July 1st at 200 North and 1000 West. The main line has been installed on 1000 West as well as Bonnie Drive. Services, including service lines and meters, are being installed along that same stretch. The services should be completed soon, and clean up and pressure testing are scheduled for the early part of this week. It is important to note that the trenches on 1000 West and Bonnie Drive will be backfilled with millings instead of repaired with asphalt. This is due to a road repair project that is scheduled for early 2025 to reconstruct both Bonnie Drive and 1000 West. Upon completion of the pressure testing, the crews will move to 350 North between 1000 West and 750 West where they will begin installing the main line. Providing a secondary water system has been a priority for Roosevelt City since 2008 in order to reduce strain on the culinary water system and provide a separate water source for outdoor irrigation.
