Heavy truck traffic is just part of life on the roads in the Uintah Basin and Roosevelt City has provided an online resource that breaks down the various truck routes within the City. The designated truck routes through Roosevelt are established within Roosevelt Municipal Code R10.08.020 and the new interactive map with route directions is now available to view online. “With a few exceptions, semi-trucks are required to travel along main roads such as Highway 40 and State Road 121 when traveling through Roosevelt,” shares this week’s announcement. “The truck route is intended to regulate the movement and parking of large vehicles and vehicles with dangerous loads.” Those vehicles include: All vehicles licensed or actually used with a gross weight in excess of 26,000 pounds or exceeding a total length (including attached trailers) of 40 feet or larger; All vehicles carrying explosive, corrosive, hazardous materials, and flammable liquid and gas carriers; Or all vehicles required to display placards. The interactive map of designated truck routes can be found at www.rooseveltcity.com/156/Police or linked to through the Roosevelt City Police Department facebook page.
