The ice skating rink at Constitution Park is officially closed for the season. The rink opened on January 15th after a few hiccups but with huge community support. The donations from STRATA, L&L Motor, the Roosevelt Arts, Parks, and Recreation Committee, support from the community, and the efforts of city employees brought this exciting activity to the public and it has quickly become a favorite. Parks Supervisor Dustin Glines shares that “since the rink opened, we’ve had people there every single day. It’s been huge for the community. And the best part is that we’ll bring it back every year.” The recent warm temperatures and windy conditions have caused the ice to melt earlier than expected and has led to the closing of the rink. Roosevelt City shared they got a late start this year, but they plan to reopen the rink as soon as it’s cold enough next December. The City extends their thanks to all who made this such an awesome winter season on the ice!
