Roosevelt City Main Street was buzzing with excitement yesterday as mini witches, superheroes, ghosts, and princesses lined up around the block to add to their candy spoils. Marion’s owner Chad Mortenson has participated in the event from the beginning for about 12 years. “This event has been wonderful,” shared Mortenson as he handed out candy. “It just grows and grows with a great turnout every year.” This was the second year that organizers got permission to close down Main Street for the event. Organizer Laree Hurley took over the planning for the Halloween parade during COVID. Rather than have it cancelled, Hurley worked with TriCounty Health Department to set up the rules in order to keep the event going and that has been her focus ever since. This year’s parade was another great success as families were able to get out together and enjoy another holiday in the great city of Roosevelt.
