Roosevelt City Council Statement on Change in City Manager

One week ago, the Roosevelt City Council unanimously voted to dismiss the city manager and naturally the public has had many questions about that decision and what led up to it. On Monday, Roosevelt City Mayor JR Bird and the Roosevelt City Council made a joint statement on that very topic. “As many in our community are aware, we have decided to make a change with the City Manager position in Roosevelt City,” shares the statement. “As could be expected, there has been much speculation as to why that decision was made. We would like it to be known that we believe Scott Finlayson to be an honest and hardworking individual; however, we feel his management style did not suit the needs of our residents or our staff. We believe him to be a person of high integrity and wish him the best in all future endeavors.” The Roosevelt City Council meeting in which Finlayson was let go is available to view on the Roosevelt City youtube page.
