Roosevelt residents, do you think that Central Park should have a new name? Mayor JR Bird led a discussion on the topic with the Roosevelt City Council during their April 18th meeting. Mayor Bird explained that the park had been referred to as ‘old park’ before it was changed to Central Park and he asked the Council if they should come up with a better name. Council members were open to changing it and it was brought up that with pickleball courts planned for that park there is potential that it will be used more and that citizens should have input on picking the name. On Wednesday, Roosevelt City began distributing a survey for the community to share whether or not they think the name should be changed and if so, what they would like it to be named. The survey is available by visiting www.rooseveltcity.com/parks or through the QR code shared on the Roosevelt City Facebook page. The survey will remain open through May 2nd.
