A new winter activity in Roosevelt has proven to be a hit with locals and the community is taking note. Roosevelt City announced Tuesday that they were honored to receive an award in recognition of the ice rink at Constitution Park during the Roosevelt Business Alliance meeting on Tuesday, February 9th. “This was a team effort,” said Parks Supervisor Dustin Glines. “It took a team effort to make this happen.” The ice skating rink opened on January 15th, 2021. Roosevelt City shares that it will remain open as long as the weather stays cold enough to have ice and is always free to the public. “Since the rink opened, we’ve had people there every single day,” said Glines. “It’s been huge for the community. And the best part is that we’ll bring it back every year.” The award was presented by Duchesne County Commissioner Irene Hansen who praised the project and its partners. “If you haven’t been up there yet, you need to go,” said Commissioner Hansen. “It looks like a scene out of a movie. We so appreciate Roosevelt City for being willing to go out and ask for help to make things happen that benefit our community.”
