Roosevelt Animal Shelter Reminds Public About Pet Firework Safety

Everyone loves fireworks during the Fourth of July holiday. Well, almost everyone. The Roosevelt Animal Shelter wants to remind the public that every July the shelters get flooded with strays who are affected by the fireworks. The shelter offers some tips to keep your pets safe. Keep the pets secured indoors and consider walking your dog earlier in the day. Provide background noise and distractions such as bones, chew toys, and music. Be sure to consult with your vet before giving medications and make sure any ID tags and microchips are up to date. The Roosevelt Animal Shelter offers microchips at their facility for $15 dollars for each animal.
