Tuesday’s Vernal Chamber Luncheon welcomed Roosevelt City Mayor Rod Bird Jr. who recently announced his run for the U.S. Senate seat that will be open at the conclusion of Senator Mitt Romney’s term. Bird emphasized his passion for working to make things better and that he has had success with this in business as well as other aspects of his life. He emphasized his belief that everyone needs to stand up for what is right to get the country back on track, quoting Edmund Burke who said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil, is that good men do nothing.” Bird answered the questions of the Chamber members and encouraged everyone to get involved in seeking positive change in this country in whatever ways they can.
