A Rock Springs man is going to trial over a range of domestic violence offenses. According to the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Allen James Hendrickson was arrested on June 2nd on a warrant charging him with Strangulation of a Household Member, two counts of Domestic Battery, two counts of False Imprisonment, and Unlawful Contact Without Bodily Injury. Court documents describe an incident on May 9th in which Hendrickson’s ex-wife was found unconscious in her vehicle at a highway underpass east of Rock Springs. She told investigators she had gone to the underpass to help Hendrickson with a flat tire and that he had “back-handed her across the face” and “had threatened to kill her and her daughter on prior occasions.” During the investigation it was learned that Hendrickson had allegedly two days before “picked her up and threw her to the floor…got on top of her and covered her nose and mouth with one hand, and grabbed her throat with his other hand [and] choked her so hard she saw silver stars”, all while telling her he was going to kill her. Hendrickson remains in custody at the Sweetwater County Detention Center on $50,000 bond.
