An arrest was made following a reported theft on Sunday at the Microtel Inn in Uintah County. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, Ring video footage showed a man enter the hotel’s maintenance room and steal tools and items. An officer responded and knocked on the door to a room on the same floor as the maintenance room. The man who answered the door was wearing the same shirt as the individual observed in the surveillance footage. The officer informed the man of the video footage and asked if he had entered the maintenance room and taken items that did not belong to him which the man stated that he had and he retrieved the stolen items. 38-year-old Mitchell Brett Bernard was arrested for the offenses of Burglary and Theft.
