A teen at Rifle High School found a unique way to use a new talent to help local police when they need to help kids in difficult situations. “Anahi Gutierrez Martinez is a senior at Rifle High School and as part of her International Baccalaureate degree, she needed to complete a CAS project,” shares Rifle Police. “CAS stands for Creativity, Action, and Service. Anadi decided to help kids that are in difficult situations.” How did she do this? During the lockdown Anadi had learned how to crochet. Using that new talent, she crocheted cute whales that were then filled like a stuffed animal and placed in a package with a short note attached to the top. “Rifle officers will hand the whales out to kids that might need a little encouragement.” Way to be an example of service Anahi!
