TriCounty Health Department has announced that the Public Health Order has been revised, taking effect on Monday, April 20th. The announcement shares the following: The revised public health order will be in effect for Daggett, Duchesne and Uintah Counties, through May 1, 2020, unless extended by TriCounty Health Officer. “The goal of the order revision is to put in place measures that we feel will continue to slow the spread of COVID-19 in the tri-county area, while still allowing our local economy to move forward,” said TriCounty Health Officer, Jordan Mathis. “This is a give and take, and we hope people will understand that it will require everyone doing their part to avoid more drastic measures.”

The revisions also include a list of restrictions, recommendations and limitations regarding personal face coverings, some of which are:

  • All individuals who have interactions, or potential interactions with the public as a result of employment, are required to wear a face covering in any public place wherever social distancing is not possible.

  • All individuals are encouraged to wear a face covering in any public place, including retail establishments, grocery stores, workplaces, and wherever social distancing is not possible.

  • The requirements and recommendations to wear a face covering in no way alters, lifts or changes the social distancing standards set forth in this order.

  • Medical-grade masks should be reserved for healthcare workers and first responders and are discouraged for personal use.

To allow establishments to be open and operational, TriCounty Health Department issued general, hygiene and spacing guidelines for the following facilities: gymnasiums, fitness centers, gymnastic studios, dance and yoga studios, hair and nail salons, tanning salons, body art studios, day spas and massage therapists.

The revised health order still includes directives adopted from Governor Herbert’s “Stay Safe, Stay Home” Directive and restaurants, bars, and food service establishments will continue to follow the Utah Department of Health Public Order.
