A retired local K9 is in need of some help. Arctos is an 8-year-old German Shepard. She retired from the Naples Police Department on March 4th, 2019, after working 3 years as a dual purpose K9. Arctos has enjoyed family life since her retirement but misfortune recently struck when she was diagnosed with Autoimmune Mediated Polyarthritis that has attacked her front wrists and unfortunately there is no cure. Her family is doing everything they can to help Arctos function but the initial braces ordered did not work on her feet. Custom braces through Bionic Pets is also an option and they are working to raise money to make that a reality. Surgery may be the best option but will cost approximately $10,000 dollars.
