The Republican Party in Uintah County issued a statement this week clarifying its position on taxation. The announcement states that the Uintah County Republican Party is “committed to promoting the State and County Republican Party platforms and reaffirms the right and responsibility of the County Party Chair and the Party to communicate party positions on platforms that have already been defined in the Party’s bylaws, constitution, and platforms. The Party’s position on taxation is part of the Utah Republican Party Platform and was established prior to the Chair posting the party’s opposition to the tax increase. As such, The Uintah County Republican Party reaffirms its opposition to the proposed tax increase as already stated in previous statements to the media, on Party sites, and social media posts.”
