Name recommendations to fill the Uintah County Attorney position have been delivered to the Uintah County Commission. Uintah County Republican Party Central Committee Chairman Brian Gorum reports that the names delivered to the Commission are Loren Anderson, Arek Butler, and Jaymon Thomas. “Pursuant to Utah state law, the Uintah County Republican Central Committee met on January 20th to interview the 5 applicants for the Uintah County Attorney’s position,” shares Gorum. “The person appointed to this position will fill Greg Lamb’s remaining term, since he resigned to take a position as judge on the 8th judicial district. The Central Committee sought out local members of law enforcement, the judiciary, and attorneys to help us determine their thoughts on the necessary qualifications of County Attorney,” continues Gorum. “It was determined that the primary role of the County Attorney was managerial, as well as, prosecutorial in nature.” Gorum also shared that the three are current members of the prosecutor’s office at the Uintah County Attorney’s Office. The Uintah County Commissioners now have until February 9th to select which candidate will fill the position. If one is not selected then the matter will be forwarded to the Governor’s Office to make the appointment.
