A repeat DUI offender was arrested again this week for driving under the influence of alcohol in Duchesne City. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, an officer ran the registration on an observed vehicle on November 12th and found that the registration was revoked with no insurance on file. A traffic stop was initiated and upon approach of the vehicle, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. When asked if he had been drinking, the driver stated he had had a couple beers. He was identified by his Driver’s License as 47-year-old Jaydee Branson and it was later noted that the Driver’s License shows that he is an alcohol restricted driver. Branson failed the sobriety tests performed and a portable breath test indicated positive for alcohol. An inventory of the vehicle found an open container of alcoholic beverage next to the center console. Branson was placed under arrest and booked into the Duchesne County Jail. He has 2 prior DUI convictions within the last 10 years, including a felony conviction. He is now charged with 3rd Degree Felony DUI, Misdemeanor Alcohol Restricted Driver, Open Container, Operating Without License or Registration, and Operating a Vehicle Without Insurance.
