Representative John Curtis will be in the Uintah Basin early next week and an interview with Evans Family Media to air on KVEL and KNUE Monday evening will be among his stops. As the Chairman of the Conservative Climate Caucus, Rep. Curtis will be talking about HR 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act which is a Republican priority aiming to lower energy costs, promote U.S. energy independence, and reduce carbon emissions through permitting and regulatory reform. The legislation, influenced by the Energy Climate and Conservation Task Force, includes provisions for natural gas, critical minerals, and other resources, and seeks to reduce reliance on China for critical minerals. HR 1 reforms NEPA – the most litigated environmental statute – that adds years and millions of dollars in costs to the energy and infrastructure projects needed to grow the economy.
