Red Fleet State Park is open and taking reservations for the new facilities. The newly renovated and updated Red Fleet State Park officially reopened on November 1st. The project has been several years and a few detours in the making, leaving the community just that much more excited for camping and lake time as the weather warms up. In 2022, renovation plans were announced but planning delays pushed things off until 2023 when the groundbreaking ceremony was held and construction officially began. Still, the hope to open the new facilities for the 2024 summer season could not be accomplished as supply chain issues seriously slowed down the construction timeline. Last June, contractor BHI provided the first real glimpse of the project by sharing aerial shots of the beautifully paved layout of the future campgrounds, beach access, picnic areas, parking, and cottages.
