National Weather Service has issued Red Flag Warnings throughout the region, in effect through at least Tuesday evening. A Red Flag Warning indicates the danger of gusty winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels. In Utah, the Book Cliffs Fire Weather Zone 487 is specifically listed as an affected area. Wind gusts are expected up to 30 mph and relative humidity is forecast to be 5 to 10 percent. This all adds up to conditions favorable for the easy ignition and rapid spread of fires due to low relative humidity and strong gusty winds. All are asked to use extreme caution at this time to prevent the start of wildfires.
