It was a record breaking year for a favorite spooky event put on each year to benefit local charities. Hotel Vernal Haunt organizers have confirmed that this was the event’s biggest year yet. 6,518 thrill seekers went through the Haunt this year with 1,026 visitors experiencing the escape rooms and over 400 enjoying the milder Un-Haunt tour. The official donation total has not been announced yet but organizers report it will be a new record. This year’s Haunt charities are Brody’s Fund, Thompson House of Hope and Addicts II Athletes. The event takes the efforts of over 200 volunteers all invested in delivering scares for a good cause. All involved are excited and grateful that, having wrapped up its 4th season, this event continues to grow and as a result helps more and more community members in need each year.
