There seems to be so many negative things happening that sometimes we need to remind ourselves that simple good things are happening in our community. A good example took place at the Tracy Byrd concert in Vernal over the weekend. Jackie Bartels reported on the Vernal Strong Facebook page that while standing in line, a teenage boy tapped her father on the shoulder and the boy thanked her father for his service because of the veteran cap he was wearing. A conversation followed about his service and the boy’s interest in going into the Marines. Jackie stated in the post that it makes her proud that there are still good kids in this community that are full of respect and hope for a future. It was certainly a great example of what it means to be Vernal Strong.
