A reckless driver report in Vernal City ended in a DUI arrest on August 7th. According to
the Affidavit of Probable Cause, a report came in that a vehicle had stopped in the
roadway on Highway 40 in the area of 1000 West and then started heading eastbound and
had almost hit the caller. Officers responded and the vehicle was located in a parking lot
at 609 West Main Street. The caller was worried that the driver was experiencing a
medical event having been observed swerving in traffic. The officer went and spoke with
the driver of the vehicle and noted that the smell of alcohol was detected coming from the
vehicle. 50-year-old Antonio Redfoot was the only person in the vehicle and when asked
if he had been drinking he said he had. After stepping out of the vehicle he was resistive
and was stumbling. Redfoot was placed under arrest. He had drug paraphernalia and
Marijuana on his person. He submitted to a breath test and once at the hospital a blood
draw. Once cleared, Redfoot was transported to the Uintah County Jail. He is charged
with 3rd Degree Felony DUI with Prior Felony as well as charges for being an Alcohol
Restricted Driver, Open Container, Driving on a Revoked License, and Drug Possession.
