Real life superheroes gathered over the weekend for the annual Uintah Basin Emergency Care Conference held at the Uintah Conference Center. A wide variety of emergency response and care professionals were in attendance for the 2-day conference. In addition to the amazing training classes and presentations, of course the conference kept the tradition of several competitions going. Jensen Fire once again won the Fire Skills Challenge. Team ‘3 Gingers and a Blonde’ won the 2023 Law Enforcement challenge and Team ‘Live, Dammit, Live’ won the 2023 UBECC ACLS Challenge. The 2023 Kevin Orr Memorial was given to Lynn Runolfson, a firefighter with the Vernal Fire Department. For many years Lynn Runolfson has served as a volunteer, protecting his community and as a certification tester for the Utah Fire and Rescue Academy. He was recognized and thanked for his years of dedicated service.
