The Rangely Police Department announced this month that they have partnered with the Town of Dinosaur to provide dispatch services for the Dinosaur Marshal’s Office. The Intergovernmental Agreement goes into effect in 2024 and will include 9-1-1 and non-emergency calls for assistance requested from Rangely to Dinosaur which are only about 18 miles apart. Rangely dispatch services were already receiving the majority of the Dinosaur 9-1-1 calls but it was set up to transfer those calls to the Communication Center in Craig. All involved agree the partnership between Rangely PD and the Dinosaur Marshal’s Office just makes a lot more sense as the towns are closer neighbors. The partnership officially goes into effect on January 1st, 2024.
