Public Meetings Scheduled for Ashley National Forest Plan

Ashley National Forest is seeking public input as they work on a Draft Assessment. The document will be used to identify current conditions and public use trends of the forest and input received from the meetings will be used in the next stage of the Forest Plan Revision process as practices are updated. “A broad array of public uses are being evaluated, such as recreation, watersheds, air quality, and soil,” shares the announcement. “In the end, the Ashley National Forest aims to have a new and balanced Forest Plan that will provide up-to-date management direction for its multiple uses, which include recreation, fish and wildlife, watersheds, timber, grazing, minerals, wilderness, and cultural resources.” Public meetings will be held from 5:30 to 7:30pm with one scheduled at the Duchesne County Events Center on July 18th, the Uintah Conference Center in Vernal on July 19th, and the Daggett County Commission Chambers in Manila on July 20th.
