Today is a very special day of celebration in our community as another group of individuals are recognized for graduating from the Uintah County Drug Court program. The Uintah County Drug Court program provides intensive outpatient treatment for people who have struggled with drug and alcohol addiction and have criminal charges as a result. It’s run through 8th District Court and participants meet with the Judge once a month, have group and individual therapy through Northeastern Counseling, and are checked on by an AP&P officer and case manager once a week. There is drug testing throughout the program that helps keep the participants accountable and clean. If participants are successful in completing the program and 6 months of aftercare, then the Felony charges on their record are eligible for a 2-step reduction to Misdemeanors potentially. The program is all about helping people get their feet back on the ground from drug addiction and alcohol addiction. The public is invited to come support the latest group of graduates at the Uintah County Drug Court graduation today at 5:30pm at the Uintah Conference Center.
