TriCounty Health Department is urging all community members to take precautions as the area experiences a surge in COVID-19 cases. Within the TriCounty Health District there have been 58 new confirmed cases in the past 3 days. This has greatly affected the percent positivity rate used by the state of Utah’s Transmission Index with the percent positivity jumping to 11.79 percent. The updated state Transmission Index has as a result changed Duchesne County’s Level of Transmission from Low to Moderate while Uintah County’s Level of Transmission remains at Moderate. Within the Moderate Level of Transmission category, masks are directed by public health mandate until October 29th. Daggett County remains in the Low Level of Transmission and as a result masks are only strongly recommended. The Transmission Index is calculated weekly and updated every Thursday.
