Roosevelt City held a pre-bid meeting on Thursday for those bidding on the Innovation Hub project. The building that previously housed the Roosevelt Library is owned by Roosevelt City and the funding has been secured to renovate it into a rural coworking center similar to those found around the state, including one in Vernal City. Roosevelt City Manager Josh Bake brought the idea forward and when funding became available the City decided to go for it. They were awarded just under $230,000 dollars through the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity Rural Coworking and Innovation Center grant program. The bid window closes on February 9th. Once underway, the construction timeline is estimated to take 6 months.
