Planned Projects for the Duchesne Roosevelt Ranger District

The Duchesne Roosevelt Ranger District recently released three projects that they are focusing on this year. First is to reroute the Uinta Beaver Dam Trail. The beavers dams have proven very effective and has created a flooded area of the trail that is impossible to pass. The new route will replace 0.15 miles of existing trail with 0.25 miles of new trail that will avoid the wetlands. The second project is a shaded fuel break on the upslope of Argyle Canyon Road. The new project will treat up to 250 acres of trees, clearing the dead and small trees to complete the shaded fuel bread and mitigate hazardous fuel. The third project involves the Yellowstone Bridge. The bridge will be replaced this fall but will need rocks to be used as a riprap along the streambanks. To save in cost, the project will identify local rock options and then move the rocks to the desired location. If you would like to leave a comment on projects, it must be submitted by
