Pioneer Day celebrates the Mormon settlers that braved the perils of the West to forge a new life and while the traditional parade has been cancelled in Vernal, there are other traditions still happening. Things will kick off with the annual Boy Scout breakfast at 7am at the Vernal City Park Colton Pavilion. The Pioneer Day Breakfast is being sponsored by Troop 228 with support from Troops 11 and 235. All funds raised will stay in the Basin to help cover the operating expenses of these troops. Tickets can be purchased at Davis Food and Drug or at the event. In the evening, plan to be somewhere you can view the fireworks show at the Naples City Park. The fireworks will start at dark.
